Homeless TV

A cool story about a Minneapolis program that gives homeless people job skills by having them produce a local-access television program. The show, in turn, raises visibility about the plight of the homeless and helps give them a voice. Synergy: it's a good thing.

That is pretty awesome. Did you ever pick up a copy of Street Sense around DC? It's essentially the same thing, but a newspaper. Homeless folks can get paid to write for it and to sell copies around town.

Though I'd say that the TV show is an even better idea from the "giving voice" standpoint, as it is free to watch and doesn't count on people to read.
